Website: https://icosend.usm.ac.id/ The 2nd International Conference on Social Environment Diversity (2nd ICOSEND 2025) was successfully held on 16–17 December 2025 in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. Carrying the theme “Resilience and Sustainability in Coastal Cities: Addressing Environmental Disasters and Social Challenges,” this conference provided an important international platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to exchange ideas and share research findings related to environmental sustainability, social resilience, and sustainable development in coastal and urban contexts. The conference aimed to promote interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration in addressing complex environmental and social challenges faced by coastal cities around the world. The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including environmental sustainability in coastal cities, social and cultural dimensions of disasters, governance and policy, disaster risk management, and technological and scientific innovation. Through these themes, the conference contributed to strengthening global academic cooperation and encouraging innovative solutions for sustainable development. ICOSEND 2025 received an overwhelming response from the global academic community, with 137 paper submissions from scholars, researchers, and practitioners representing various disciplines and perspectives. Following a rigorous peer-review process conducted by 25 qualified reviewers, 64 papers were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of approximately 46,8 %. This selective process ensured that the papers included in these proceedings represent high-quality research and meaningful contributions to the advancement of knowledge in the field of social environment diversity. The papers published in this volume reflect diverse perspectives and innovative approaches in understanding the relationships between environmental systems and social dynamics. We hope that these proceedings will serve not only as a valuable academic reference but also as a source of inspiration for future research, policy development, and practical applications. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all authors who submitted their work and contributed to the success of this conference. Our deepest appreciation is extended to the reviewers for their valuable time and constructive comments, which greatly improved the quality of the accepted papers.
