Interpersonal Support, Self-regulation, and Self-esteem Effects on Anxiety and Thriving: Evidence from Junior Tennis Players

- Abstract
Achieving victory in a professional level tennis match is no longer the battle between individual technique skills as it seemed, instead, the athlete’s personal team support is plays an essential role in varieties of aspect, where mental regulation is one of its parts. Through questionnaire, study was conducted with young high-level tennis players, and aimed to investigate the correlation and prediction of interpersonal support, self-regulation, and self-esteem on their levels of competition anxiety and thriving. Where 32 high-level young tennis athletes were conducted results from with 28% female participants. Through Multiple conducting linear regression analyses the results shows, highly skilled tennis players experience a negative correlation between their cognitive state anxiety during competitions and their levels of self-regulation and interpersonal support, significant positive correlation between thriving and interpersonal support, self-regulation, and self-esteem. While Self-regulation is a predictor of both striving and competition-related cognitive state anxiety in high-level tennis players.
