Abstract

Public Street Lighting has an important role in improving the safety, security, and comfort of road users, as well as for temple surroundings. This study aims to analyze the illuminance distribution of LED street lighting installed on a 6-meter pole height, with a 0.5-meter ornament arm and an armature tilt angle of 10°. Mathematical, statistical and photometric analysis were used in this study. Light intensity data samples were taken from 10 lamp points, there are four observation points for each lamp, namely points A, B, C, and D. The results show that the average illuminance at point A is 82.8 lux, point B is 44.8 lux, point C is 40 lux, and point D is 13.1 lux. The maximum illuminance occurred at Point A (closest to the light source center), while the minimum occurred at Point D. Based on the calculation results and visualization of the Isolux curve, the distribution of light shows an asymmetric pattern with a tendency for light to spread forward (forward throw). The peak light intensity occurs at an angle of 55° to 60° relative to nadir. These photometric characteristics make the luminaire suitable for roadway applications (Type II/III), exceeding the requirements of European Standard EN 12464-2: Lighting of work places – Part 2: Outdoor work places, as the road primarily serves to illuminate the temple environment. The results of the study found that the design is efficient and represents green lighting, as the minimum illuminance requirement of 20 lux at target point C is achieved.
