Abstract

Coconut shell crafts, also known as beruk, are unique. Initially, the ancient Balinese people used a beruk as a place to take water. However, over time, beruk with a number of modifications can also be used for water pots, nunas tirta, cups, and so on. Beruk is now used for souvenirs or art. In Gianyar Regency, several beruk handicraft industries are operated by the local community. One of the beruk handicraft businesses in Tampaksiring Village is the Beruk Handicraft Business, founded by Mr. I Nyoman Sarjana, whose address is in Banjar Penka, Tampaksiring Village, Tampaksiring Sub-District, Gianyar Regency. This beruk handicraft business was established in 2010, producing handicrafts from coconut shells in the form of beruk, soap dishes, susuk/bun, and other items. The problems faced by beruk craft partners include suboptimal marketing, a lack of understanding of occupational health and safety aspects (K3), limited production process support tools, and difficulties in maintaining business records/bookkeeping. The service team from Politeknik Negeri Bali, which has the qualifications to address the problems faced by activity partners, has planned to provide K3 training, marketing training on social media and marketplaces, business bookkeeping training, and assistance with tools to support the production process.
