Abstract

As the operational core of hotels, the rooms division oversees Five-Star lodgings directly and has a big impact on both the guest experience and the environment. The St. Regis Bali Resort and The Laguna, a luxury collection resort & spa, Nusa Dua, are two Marriott chain hotels in Bali, where this study looks at green practice approaches used in the rooms division. Using a qualitative methodology, this study analyzes relevant operational documentation and sustainability protocols in addition to data gathered from in-depth interviews and surveys with department managers and employees. The results show substantial environmental efforts, such as waste reduction plans, energy-saving programs, and the use of eco-friendly products and technologies in all aspects of guest room operations. Through voluntary measures like replacing linens and towels periodically rather than daily, and using paperless menus and information catalogs in guest rooms, guest engagement is vital. These cooperative initiatives involving employees and visitors show how sustainability principles can be successfully incorporated into day-to-day operations. As the largest operating department, the Rooms Division has the greatest potential for implementing green initiatives and having an environmental impact within hotel businesses, according to the study’s findings.
