Abstract

Citizenship Education learning is often more theoretical than practical, which can lead to student boredom, highlighting the need for appropriate learning media. This research aims to examine the potential of using Augmented Reality in creating interactive learning experiences in the field of citizenship education in the digital era. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach, collecting data from various sources such as books, journals, and other references. Data analysis employs the Miles & Huberman framework, including data reduction, data display, and data verification. The research results indicate that the transformation of citizenship education learning with Augmented Reality technology enables interactive and immersive learning experiences, helping students understand abstract concepts such as government structure and the values of Pancasila through more tangible visualizations. Although Augmented Reality offers many advantages in enhancing student interest and engagement, challenges such as the need for adequate technological infrastructure and teacher training must be addressed for effective implementation. Therefore, the design of Augmented Reality-based learning media should be carried out carefully to support the development of students’ citizenship attitudes and create a dynamic learning environment. This research provides novel insights by introducing Augmented Reality as an innovative tool in citizenship education, an area that remains underexplored in the current body of educational research.
