Abstract

Quality education is greatly influenced by the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure. At Deli Serdang Regency State High School, geography learning faces various challenges related to the availability and maintenance of the necessary teaching aids and supporting technology. This condition affects the effectiveness of learning and provides challenges for teachers and students in conveying and understanding geography material. This research aims to analyze the management of educational facilities and infrastructure in the geography learning process at SMA Negeri Deli Serdang Regency. This research was conducted at 10 State High Schools in Deli Serdang Regency. Data was collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach to understand the condition of management of educational facilities and infrastructure in these schools. The research results show that the majority of geographic facilities and infrastructure in these schools are adequate, with globes (62%), maps (70%), learning package books (78%), and projectors (80%). Several schools have met the facilities and infrastructure standards regulated by law, but there are still obstacles in maintaining and distributing learning tools. The success of managing facilities and infrastructure depends greatly on collaboration between schools and the government. The implications of this research indicate the need for improvements in planning and supervision that are more structured and more efficient in managing educational facilities and infrastructure to support better quality learning.
