Abstract

The transfer of part or all of the land area, which is often referred to as land conversion or land conversion, from its original designation (according to plan) to another designation that has a negative impact (problem) on the environment. This study aims to analyze changes in land use into industrial areas from 2010-2022 and analyze the impact of changes in land use into industrial areas in Sampali Village. The research method used in this research is through a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques used in this study, namely by conducting field observations and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the land change that occurred in Sampali Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency was quite significant through the change of paddy fields and plantations into industrial/factory areas. The negative impact of the conversion of agricultural land from paddy fields and plantations to an industrial area in Sampali Village has caused residents to lose their agricultural land. In addition to the negative impacts, of course, the community also gets a positive impact from the land conversion in Sampali Village, namely the opening of job opportunities where local residents can work in the industrial area.
