Abstract

This study aims to explore the level of readiness among higher education teachers in Indonesia through four main dimensions: Computer/Self-Efficacy, Institutional Support, Self-Directed Learning, and Learning Transfer Self-Efficacy. Additionally, it examines both direct and indirect (mediation effect) relationships among the variables. Data were collected through a survey involving 133 teachers across Indonesia. The data were analyzed using a two-step modeling approach, including CFA and SEM, with Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) to establish path coefficients.

The results show that while teachers demonstrate high readiness for online learning, particularly in terms of self-directed learning and digital competence, there is still room for improvement in institutional policies and resources to better support the online teaching process. Correlation analysis reveals significant relationships among the four dimensions of teachers’ online learning readiness: Computer/Self-Efficacy (CSE), Institutional Support (IS), Self-Directed Learning (SDL), and Learning Transfer Self-Efficacy (LTSE), in relation to Teachers’ Readiness (TR). Among all dimensions, Institutional Support (IS) exhibited the strongest positive correlation with Teachers’ Readiness, underscoring the importance of institutional resources, training, and guidance in fostering readiness for online learning environments.

Lastly, hypothesis testing confirmed support for all direct and indirect effect relationships within the model. These findings validate the presence of mediation effects, highlighting the interconnected roles of teacher readiness dimensions in influencing online teaching competence. These insights provide practical recommendations for educators and policymakers aiming to enhance online learning frameworks in regions with similar educational and technological contexts to Indonesia.
