Abstract

Pancasila Education at the junior high school level plays a strategic role in shaping students’ character in alignment with the core values of Pancasila. Artificial Intelligence (AI) supports learning processes in a more adaptive, personalized, and data-driven manner. This study aims to design and test an AI-based model of students’ social behavior, which can be used to assess and enhance learning outcomes in Pancasila Education at the junior high school level. The research adopts a Design and Development Research approach, focusing on creating a system and evaluating its effectiveness in real-world settings. A platform called SI-KARAKTER (Character Identification System) was developed. It analyses student interactions in online discussion forums and collaborative assignments to model social behaviors aligned with Pancasila values. It was implemented with 150 students at SMP Gajah Mada, Medan City, as the primary test subjects. Data were collected through various instruments, including digital activity logs, pre-test and post-test scores in Pancasila Education, and in-depth interviews with 10 participating teachers. Quantitative analysis showed that the AI model successfully identified patterns of student social behavior with an accuracy of 88%. Furthermore, there was a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, particularly in the affective and psychomotor domains, with an average post-test score increase of 25%, which was statistically significant (p < 0.05). Qualitative findings indicated that the platform’s analytical dashboard supported teachers in providing personalized, targeted feedback. While promising, the study also underscores ethical concerns, including data privacy, algorithm transparency, and teacher readiness.
