Website: https://icst.ugm.ac.id/ We are delighted to welcome you to the 10th International Conference on Science and Technology (ICST 2024), held on October 23–24, 2024, at Gadjah Mada University Club Hotel (UC Hotel UGM), Yogyakarta, Indonesia. To accommodate participants worldwide, this conference was conducted in a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions with virtual participation via the Zoom Meeting Platform. The event is proudly organized under the auspices of the Research Directorate of Universitas Gadjah Mada. ICST 2024 attracted a total of 385 submissions from 17 countries. The conference covers a broad range of scientific and engineering disciplines. However, this particular proceedings volume is dedicated exclusively to selected papers in the field of mechanical and industrial engineering. Following a rigorous and thorough peer-review process, 57 high-quality papers within this thematic area were accepted for presentation and publication. Mechanical and industrial engineering are two closely related but distinct disci plines that play a crucial role in advancing technology and optimizing complex systems across various industries. Mechanical engineering focuses on the design, analysis, man ufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, applying principles from physics, mathematics, and materials science to develop solutions for devices and systems rang ing from engines and vehicles to robotics and advanced manufacturing equipment. This discipline contributes significantly to sectors such as automotive, aerospace, energy, and healthcare by fostering innovation, efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Industrial engineering complements this by concentrating on the optimization of processes, systems, and organizations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency. It integrates engineering principles with mathematical and social sciences to design and manage systems involving people, materials, information, equipment, and energy. Industrial engineers employ methodologies such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and systems engineering to reduce waste, streamline operations, and enhance overall organizational performance in manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and service indus tries. Together, these fields drive innovation and sustainable development, addressing the evolving challenges of modern society. We extend our sincere gratitude to all authors for their valuable contributions and to the keynote and invited speakers—Prof. José Sena Cruz (University of Minho, Por tugal), Prof. Cheng-Hao Chuang (Tamkang University, Taiwan), Assoc.
