- Abstract
Vibe coding has become a recognizable label for conversational, flow-oriented AI-assisted programming. It promises speed, experimentation, and a strong sense of creative momentum, yet it also weakens direct code comprehension and can hide assumptions, risks, and architectural debt. This article proposes a compact conceptual framework for disciplined vibe coding, developed by synthesizing recent literature, community gray literature, and classroom practice. The framework contains six principles: Responsible Vibe Coding, Tool-Aware Vibe Coding, Specification-First, Plan–Guide–Verify, Rule of Principle-Guided Prompts, and Definition of Done. Its novelty lies in relocating familiar software engineering commitments to the prompt-based conversational workflow. A short prompt-based example and preliminary classroom evidence illustrate how the principles can guide AI-assisted programming. The framework is not presented as a fully validated method, but as a teachable vocabulary for preserving accountability, making intent explicit, supporting verification, and keeping later refactoring feasible.
