- Abstract
The complexity of engineering work and the engineers’ technical and social responsibility requires multifaceted preparation. Communication skills play a prominent role in this, determining both the efficiency of transferring information when dealing with complex systems and the success of dialogue with society, as well as the representation of professional values and interests. This study provides insight into the preparedness of first-year engineering students in this area, as well as their attitudes towards the communication expectations of the engineering profession.
