Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among employees of PT. Bank Sumut. Interpersonal communication is understood as the ability of individuals to interact openly, show empathy, and provide support to one another, while OCB refers to positive behavior in the workplace that is carried out voluntarily outside of primary responsibilities. This study uses a quantitative approach with a sample of 140 employees. Data were collected through interpersonal communication and OCB scales that have been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the Pearson correlation analysis revealed a coefficient value of r = 0.450 with a significance level of p = 0.000 ( p < 0.05 ), indicating a positive and significant association between the two variables. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R 2 = 0.203) suggests that interpersonal communication accounts for 20.3% of the variation in OCB, while the remaining portion is affected by other external factors.
