It examines Gen Z’s preferences for vintage hotels, themed accommodations, and immersive cultural experiences as a means to restore historical landmarks and promote cultural identity. The fact that in addition to this, their use of digital media enables cultural exchange and unearths hidden traditional customs is quite significant. While sustainable tourism and cultural preservation have been studied, limited research exists on how Gen Z’s travel behaviours impact these areas. The article deals with the issue by examining how Gen Z’s tourism choices are key to sustainable local development and cultural viability.
The study employed a narrative analysis, which enabled the researchers Gen Z tourists, lodging staff, and cultural experience developers. It is interesting that the main outcomes of the research have demonstrated some interesting Gen Z-driven tourism initiatives, including cultural dishes promotion, historical site preservation, and other interactive programs that combine modern and traditional experiences. The rising interest in educational and immersive tourism experiences is a platform for the implementation of new strategies for local development and community-led cultural preservation.
Summing up, the study spotlights Gen Z’s unprecedented influence on the tourism industry, thus vetting cultural renewal besides ensuring long-term preservation for posterity.
