Abstract

Since the reform and opening up, the country’s economic strength has rapidly increased. However, if we only focus on economic construction or build a prosperous country before strengthening the military, such economic construction without security guarantees is unsustainable. The strong economic strength is not enough to support and maintain national development. A strong national defense is needed as a support to enable the country to independently and peacefully carry out economic construction. Only with a strong military and enhanced deterrence can we provide reliable security guarantees for economic development, maintain a stable external environment necessary for economic development, strive for the longest possible economic construction time, and stand firm in fierce international competition and struggle. Therefore, while developing the economy to achieve national prosperity, we must continuously strengthen national defense and military construction, and achieve the unity of a prosperous country and a strong military.
