- Abstract
With the emergence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), especially following the rise of ChatGPT, there has been growing interest in its application within educational contexts. This study investigates how ChatGPT can be leveraged to support the development of oral proficiency among learners of the Japanese language. A common challenge for Japanese learners is the lack of sufficient speaking practice, which often hinders their communicative fluency. ChatGPT, through its ability to simulate conversations, deliver immediate language feedback, and present a range of interactive speaking scenarios, serves as a novel complement to conventional pedagogical approaches.
