Abstract

Based on the theory of lifelong education, the education credit bank has become a key focus in both academia and industry. This paper analyzes 240 core publications on credit banks from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) between 2001 and 2024, using CiteSpace and VOSviewer knowledge mapping methods. From the perspectives of annual publication volume, authors, institutions, and keywords, it systematically reviews the current status of domestic credit bank research. The study finds that: 1) research interest significantly increased following the release of the “National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan” in 2019, peaking in 2020–2021; 2) core authors are represented by Wu Nanzhong, Li Yi, and others, with a few institutions such as Chongqing Radio and TV University dominating; 3) keyword evolution reflects a shift from conceptual exploration to technological application, with “lifelong learning” and “vocational education” becoming research focal points; 4) emerging technologies like blockchain have begun to be integrated into credit bank research. By systematically reviewing the literature characteristics and research hotspots of credit banks, this paper provides theoretical references for national education reform strategies and credit bank development, holding significant practical importance for building a modern lifelong education system.
