- Abstract
As a systematic concept, Marxist feminism encompasses such diverse contents as the root of oppression suffered by female, the expression of female issues, gender relations, the position and role of female in social development, and the road of female liberation, which furnishes scientific theoretical guidance for realizing female liberation. Seaside Old Acquaintance, a novel written by Yin Lu, exhibits a series of themes through the description of five young women, including the cruelty of paternalism and feudal ethics to female, the double dilemma faced by female from family and social oppression, the passive feelings of female in love and marriage, the power of female in patriotic movement, and the enterprising road of awakened females, which are consistent with Marxist feminism. Simply put, the research on the novel Seaside Old Acquaintance from the perspective of Marxist feminism can resonate with contemporary female, reveal the root causes of oppression suffered by female, thus bringing beneficial enlightenment to contemporary female liberation.
