- Abstract
Microteaching relies on interactions between lecturers and students. However, many lecturers struggle to communicate clearly and confidently. This study examines how a combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques can improve student teaching performance. A quasi-experimental design was applied to fifty students, divided into five groups. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests. A holistic score (scale of 100) and specific competencies (scale of 1–5) were used to compile scores. Eight elements were evaluated: adaptive communication, anchoring, reframing, matching and mirroring, interactive questions, audience engagement, and AI-enhanced feedback. Post-test scores increased to 80–88 from 55–62 in the pre-test, and the group average score increased to 77.2–79.1. Significant increases in engagement, teaching confidence, interpersonal communication, and AI and NLP literacy were observed, with the largest increase in literacy being (+1.57). Thus, AI and NLP in microteaching effectively enhance communication skills and provide an innovative model for preparing the next educators.
