- Abstract
Innovative and joyful media are required to improve students’ interest in learning mathematics; one way is using Virtual Reality (VR). This study presents the development of VR implementation with a cultural approach (ethnomathematics) for learning geometry called Ethno-VR. It aims to develop joyful and meaningful mathematics learning while learning about cultural heritage. The research method used was ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The research subjects were recruited using purposive sampling in a class of 32 students in a state junior high school in Malang, Indonesia. The research result is a VR media with a cultural approach, useful for learning geometry. Using this media, the students’ learning interest is categorized in the good category.
