- Abstract
This study explored the perceptions of primary school students regarding the use of the InES Book, a digital-based interactive storybook, in improving personalised learning. Respondents included 35 students from two primary schools in Jepara District: SDN 2 Krapyak (20 students) and SDN 1 Sowan Lor (15 students). Data were collected using a questionnaire covering four key indicators: student interest in learning, students’ learning needs, the use of technology, and teacher creativity. Results indicated consistently positive perceptions across both schools. At SDN 2 Krapyak, the highest-rated indicator was students’ learning needs (91.5%), while at SDN 1 Sowan Lor, the use of technology received the highest rating (92%). Detailed item-level analysis showed that features such as animations, videos, and interactive activities in the InES Book enhanced students’ understanding of complex materials. Overall, the InES Book effectively supported students’ learning needs, making learning materials more engaging and accessible. The findings also demonstrated a positive impact on teachers’ ability to provide personalised learning. Teachers noted that the InES Book’s flexibility in customising content and adjusting difficulty levels helped them address students’ diverse needs, thereby creating a more dynamic and inclusive learning environment. In conclusion, the InES Book fosters personalised and effective learning by increasing students’ motivation and engagement, addressing their unique needs, and supporting teachers in delivering innovative and adaptive learning experiences.
