Abstract

Stroke is a major global health problem and one of the leading causes of death. In Asia and Indonesia, ischemic stroke has a higher prevalence than hemorrhagic stroke. Rational drug management is essential to improve the quality of health services, reduce medication errors, and accelerate patient recovery. In a good drug prescribing pattern, it is important to ensure that drugs are used according to medical needs. This study aims to analyze the relationship between drug prescribing patterns and the length of stay of ischemic stroke patients at Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital Semarang. The results are expected to support more effective and safe treatment management. Methods: This study uses quantitative observational research methods with cross-sectional design. The sample used was taken with a total sampling technique of 68 respondents. Results: The results of the relationship between length of hospitalization and drug prescription patterns obtained significant results with a p value of 0.008. It is said to be significant because the p value is less than 0.05. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between drug prescribing patterns and the length of stay of ischemic stroke patients at Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital Semarang. This is indicated by a p-value of 0.008, which is smaller than 0.05. This study shows that rational and medically appropriate drug management can affect the duration of patient care, thus supporting more effective and safe treatment management.
