Abstract

With the deepening of globalization and the recent strong development momentum of Chinese domestic animation, the inheritance, innovation, and global expansion of traditional Chinese culture in domestic animated films have become significant topics. This paper focuses on the cinematic representation of traditional culture, exploring its cultural essence, transmission, and innovation within animated films. Through in-depth interviews and textual analysis of overseas audience feedback, this study reveals how Chinese animated films leverage traditional aesthetics while integrating universal values and contemporary spirit to achieve the modernization and global dissemination of cultural heritage. Research findings indicate that Chinese animated films not only delve deeply into the essence of traditional Chinese culture, presenting its aesthetics exquisitely on screen, but also breathe new life into cultural heritage through innovative narrative deconstruction and the application of cutting-edge visual expression technologies. These works have not only achieved multi-faceted success encompassing both critical acclaim and commercial returns in the domestic market, but have also showcased the charm of Chinese culture on the global stage. They provide innovative approaches for the domestic preservation and promotion of Chinese culture, as well as its international dissemination, while setting valuable precedents for the further development and globalization of China’s animation industry.
