- Abstract
Could enterprise digital transformation mitigate the impact of uncertainty shocks on corporate innovation? Based on the data of Chinese listed companies from 2009 to 2019, this paper empirically examines the moderating effect of enterprise digital transformation on the suppression of corporate innovation by uncertainty and its channel mechanisms. Empirical results show that digital transformation significantly mitigates the inhibitory effect of macroeconomic uncertainty on corporate innovation, and this moderating effect is particularly significant in invention patent applications. Mechanism tests further indicate that big data technology enhances corporate resilience to uncertainty by expanding the boundaries of enterprise information acquisition.
