Abstract

Thanks to their unique functional characteristics and geographical location, ports play a vital supporting role in the high-quality development of marine economy represented by port-surrounding industries. This paper identifies the key priorities for water transport to drive the development of port-surrounding industries, taking the integrated development of ports and port-surrounding industries as the starting point. It systematically summarizes the new requirements for port-surrounding industries under the new situation, sorts out and analyzes the development experience of typical port-surrounding industries, and refines the advantageous factors of ports in boosting industrial development. On this basis, specific suggestions on the selection of port-surrounding industrial directions are put forward. The research results can provide a reference for industrial layout decisions, help continuously match port advantages with industrial development needs, better serve high-level opening-up and the establishment of a new development pattern, and promote the high-quality growth of marine economy.
