Abstract

The demand of social responsibility and environment in the business practice had made the issue of sustainable finance as the global attention including banking company. Banking companies have strategic role in encouraging the sustainable economy transition. This research aimed to conduct a biblio-metric review on scientific literature concerning sustainable finance at banking companies in order to identify the publication trend, author and institution collaboration, and the most relevant keywords. The scopus databases became the source of this research covered 337 scientific articles published in 2005 until 2025 with keywords “sustainable finance” and “banking companies” by using RStudio, Biblioshiny, and VOSviewer software. The re-search result showed that since 2019 the publication about sustainable finance at banking companies increased rapidly especially with the theme sustainability, green banking and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). The top two countries contributing to sustainable finance research are Italy and China, while the most productive institutions come from the University Of Bari Aldo Moro and the University Of Oxford. These findings emphasize the importance of collaboration cross countries to strengthen the understanding and practice of sustainable finance in global banking. Besides, the research results can be made as foundation for the regulator, practitioner, and academician in formulating the strategy of an integrated and responsive sustainable finance towards the environmental and social challenge.
