Abstract

The Pan-Pearl River Delta Region is a core area in China with a dense population and active economic factors, and also an important gateway for the southward opening-up of the Belt and Road Initiative. Exploring the development level of air logistics and the structure of spatial association networks in this region is of great significance for addressing the shortcomings in the development of the air logistics industry, optimizing the spatial layout of airports, and improving resource allocation. From a dynamic evolution perspective, this paper focuses on the evolutionary characteristics of the air logistics development level and spatial association networks in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region at the prefecture-level city scale. The study first outlines the basic situation of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region and selects 36 representative cities as air logistics nodes. Then, combining the current status of regional economic and air logistics development, it uses the Weighted-TOPSIS method to evaluate the air logistics development level of urban nodes and analyze their spatial evolution trends. Finally, through the modified gravity model and social network analysis method, it explores the spatial association network of air logistics and depicts the evolutionary characteristics of the overall network, individual nodes, and local segments from multiple dimensions.
