- Abstract
The digital economy, which is driven by digital technology and data-centric activities, has emerged as a key driver for the development of new quality productive forces. This study investigates the influence of the digital economy on new quality productive forces in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) using panel data from 2011 to 2020. The results show that the digital economy has contributed significantly to the productivity growth of the new quality, with distinct impacts observed across different metropolitan areas. The study suggests that the role played by the digital economy can be played in the development of new forms of quality productivity, the GBA should enhance data flow, bolster digital industrialization, and develop characteristic platforms.
