Abstract

In recent years, integrated bookstores have rapidly emerged in the market with the diversified business model of “bookstore + coffee”, and coffee operations have become a regular feature of new bookstores. National chain brands such as Sisyphus and POPULAR Bookstore have developed the coffee section to a relatively mature level. However, the construction of such commercial spaces generally lacks environmental sustainability considerations, resulting in different degrees of environmental load and resource consumption. The site is located in the Qinhuai District of Nanjing, with a large residential area (to be built/completed) on the west side of the site, which has a stable consumer base and clear market demand. Upgrading the business mode of the renovation project to “Book Café” can better meet the needs of the surrounding residents. By upgrading the observation tower of Nanjing Dajiaochang Airport, the design study aims to apply green building technology to the architectural form of the new industry, and to draw a new paradigm of ecological wisdom empowering the industry.
