Abstract

With the rapid development of technology, standard essential patents (SEPs) have become a new focus of enterprise competition, especially of V2X. This paper firstly describes the basic concept and importance of SEP. Then it analyzes the application of SEP in the field of V2X, the challenges brought by SEP while promoting technological innovation and standardization, including patent disputes, high licensing fees, and so on. Subsequently, this paper summarizes the domestic and international policies and regulations on SEP management, and discusses the application trend of SEP for V2X in the world and China. Finally, it puts forward suggestions for enterprises to strengthen SEP layout and management in V2X.
