Abstract

Artificial intelligence, or AI, can impact human resources management in good and bad ways. In the last 20 years, researchers have studied how AI affects workplace results more closely, but there hasn't been a complete review of all this research. A full review is important because: (a) it can help guide future studies on how AI impacts workplaces, and (b) this can help managers use AI the right way, leading to better outcomes at work and for the company. This is the first study to take an in-depth look at the issue examining how artificial intelligence (AI) affects workplace results. We carefully reviewed and analyzed existing research, focusing on 60 papers from 30 top international journals published for over 25 years, spanning from.

1995 to 2020. Our study delves into how AI impacts workplace outcomes by using the main areas of human resource management and a structure that looks at “causes, events, and results” at different levels. We organized the articles we reviewed by their publication year, theories used, methods, and key ideas, following the “causes, events, and results” framework. We suggest future research directions by connecting our findings to human resource literature. We also recommend studying topics that consider different levels, such as individuals, teams, and organizations, using various theories and approaches.
