Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the universe’s evolution by analysing various key cosmological parameters, including the Hubble parameter, deceleration parameter and jerk parameter within the context of the Starobinsky inflation model based metric f ( R ) gravity. Our study supports the view that the universe is currently in an accelerated expansion phase. However, in the past, expansion was decelerating, and the shift from deceleration to acceleration likely occurred at 0.711t0 or (z = 0.6), where t0 represents the current age of the universe. Furthermore, the accelerated expanding phase is expected to persist into the far future. Again, we employ power-law cosmology to investigate the variation of jerk parameter and from this study, we got the conclusion that the rate of accelerated expansion will increase monotonically over time.
