- Abstract
The investigation carried out on rice varietal technologies in Punjab and Haryana provides substantial evidence in favor of this hypothesis. Our findings advocate for future adoption studies to broaden the scope of variables considered, moving beyond general socio-economic, demographic, and institutional factors to encompass farmers’ subjective perceptions regarding the attributes of new agricultural technologies. It is essential to provide zero tillage equipment and mechanical rice transplanters to farmers through Custom Hiring Centers (CHCs), along with subsidies from all state governments. This initiative aims to encourage a greater number of farmers to utilize these technologies, particularly for rice and wheat cropping systems in other regions of India.
