Abstract

Under the background of industry-education integration, the demand for innovative practical abilities in cultivating product design professionals has intensified. As a critical component of practical teaching, the curriculum design of product design plays a pivotal role in achieving educational objectives. This paper addresses three key challenges in product design curriculum design: ambiguous virtual project topics, superficial model production, and difficulty in integrating ideological-political education. Guided by the principle of “student-centered, output-oriented”, the study proposes innovative reforms through measures such as real-world-oriented teaching content, deep industry-education collaboration, holistic ideological-political education integrating knowledge with practice, full-cycle design evaluation, and shared faculty resources for mutual benefits. The curriculum topics align with national policies, balancing innovation and practicality to enhance students’ ability to bridge theory and practice, resulting in a strong sense of achievement. By guiding students to address real enterprise needs, the teaching team has achieved significant outcomes, including successful product commercialization, promotion of the industry-education integration model, and exemplary impacts on educational and industrial practices.
