Abstract

In the context of globalization, exchanges between Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) have become increasingly frequent. This paper explores the differences between Western medicine and TCM, analyzes their respective pros and cons, and presents a perspective on their integration. By examining theoretical foundations, diagnostic methods, treatment principles, medication characteristics, and cultural backgrounds, a comprehensive comparison highlights the unique features and values of each system. The integration of Western medicine and TCM can leverage their respective strengths, overcome limitations, and contribute to more effective, patient-centered healthcare solutions. Case studies from the COVID-19 pandemic and chronic disease management illustrate the potential of this synergistic approach.
