Abstract

This study aims to develop the design and validation of the traditional hadang game in Elementary Schools. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method using 10 development stages. The development of this research is focused on the design and validation stages. The data analysis techniques used in developing this product are qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. (1) Qualitative data analysis is used to analyze data in the form of suggestions or input from experts. (2) Descriptive analysis in the form of percentages is used to analyze the results of data collection from initial needs analysis and expert evaluation. Validation is carried out by material experts, language experts, and learning experts in Elementary Schools. Validation here is of 2 types, namely quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative validation uses a questionnaire which is then analyzed using the Lawshe formula and qualitative validation uses validator suggestions and input. Based on the results of the research conducted, design development has been carried out on the arena or field, equipment, number of players, duration and time of the game, the course of the game, violations, score calculations, and determination of the winner in the “hadang” game. And validation of the development of the traditional game “hadang” VALID is marked by quantitative validation results that meet the valid level standard, namely above 0.68 with a value of 0.9, as well as qualitative validation results stating that the development of this traditional hadang game can be in accordance with local cultural values and in accordance with the characteristics of students at elementary school level.
