Abstract

This research is classified as descriptive qualitative research. This research aims to assess the need for the use of artificial intelligence as a means of assisting the creation of learning videos in high school physics subjects. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Survey questionnaire research as an instrument. The questionnaire was distributed through a Google form link, which was then filled online within a certain period of time. This research focused on high school students in South Sumatra province, specifically located in four districts/cities, namely Palembang, Muara Enim, Lahat, and Empat Lawang. The study involved 207 student respondents and six high school teacher respondents. The results showed that 84.50% of students stated that they really needed STEM-based learning videos, and 100% of teachers stated that they really needed artificial intelligence-assisted learning videos. Based on this research, there is a need for artificial intelligence-assisted learning videos as learning media. This preliminary research will be developed into further research to create STEM-based learning videos with artificial intelligence to train critical thinking skills on parabolic motion material.
