Analysis of Flashcard Needs Based on Augmented Reality on Dynamic Fluid Material to Improve High School Students Critical Thinking Skills

Abstract

Technological advancements in the 21st century have had a significant impact on the world of education. One of the main challenges is the lack of innovation in creating teaching materials, learning media, or activities that promote students’ critical thinking. Critical thinking skills have become key in improving the quality of education. This study aims to analyze the need for augmented reality-based flashcard learning media in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in physics learning. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a survey method. The subjects of this study were 59 students taking physics courses at SMA Negeri 2 Plus Banyuasin III. The results showed that although most physics learning has used learning media, the use of augmented reality-based flashcard learning media is still low. However, most students showed interest and need for such learning media. The analysis also found that the physics material that students find difficult to understand is the topic of dynamic fluids, and the lack of engaging learning media is one of the contributing factors. Therefore, the development of augmented reality- based flashcard learning media is expected to help students understand complex physics concepts. In conclusion, the use of augmented reality-based flashcard learning media has the potential to improve students’ critical thinking skills in physics learning. This media allows students to understand physics concepts visually and interactively, as well as increase their interest and motivation to learn.
