- Abstract
The competency of fifth grade students in creative writing is still considered low, so it requires appropriate handling and solutions in preparation for facing life’s increasingly complex challenges. This research was conducted to see improvements in students’ creative writing skills using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method in class V SDN Danau Indah 02 Bekasi Regency. The implementation of this classroom action research was carried out in 2 cycles with the assessment measuring tool used in the form of a temporary writing test to see the continuity of the application of learning using observation. The results showed that the classical completeness class II. Increase from cycle I to cycle II. The percentage of classical completeness in cycle I is 46% with an average value of 58.33. In cycle II, classical completeness increased to 80% with an average value of 85.17. With changes in scores in each cycle, it proves that the application of the CIRC Method is effective in improving students’ creative writing skills.
