- Abstract
This research aims to describe Bumiayu 3 Temple, Tanah Abang Sub-district, located in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency (Pali), South Sumatra. At the Bumiayu 3 temple site, there are clues to the remaining ruins in the form of ornamental varieties such as Flora motif ornaments that are still clear in detail. The decorative character of Bumiayu Temple is generally influenced by Hinduism, this is contrary to the main belief of the Srivijaya Kingdom, which is Buddhism. It is important to study the aesthetics of this decorative style in order to obtain clues about the influence and distribution of periods related to the decorative style used in the temple. Research related to this decoration is field research and the method used in reading the form of decoration using a hermeunetic approach. The research results obtained from the form of floral motifs include Lotus Motifs, Patra Decorative motifs, Lung and tendrils, and Pucuk Rebung motifs carved on the walls of the temple. Therefore, the results of this study can be used as a learning resource in the Prehistoric Age and Hindu Buddhist Subjects.
