- Abstract
This research systematically examines the role of communication in enabling Transformational leadership within higher education institutions (HEIs). The purpose of this review is to synthesize existing literature to understand how communicative competence allows academic leaders to articulate a vision, build trust, and drive innovation. The major findings reveal that communication is not a peripheral skill but the fundamental mechanism through which transformational leadership achieves its impact. Communication is critical for building employee trust and openness to change, while interpersonal and digital communication competence directly enhances faculty job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and performance. The study concludes that in the digital age, mastering both interpersonal and virtual communication is indispensable for effective academic leadership. Investing in these communicative capabilities is synonymous with investing in institutional resilience and success, making it a strategic imperative for HEIs navigating a complex and evolving landscape.
