Cantonese Opera, as an essential part of China’s traditional theatrical culture, serves as a crucial carrier for preserving the Cantonese dialect and promoting cultural classics. It is a significant intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in Lingnan region of China. From the perspective of multimodal narratives, this article attempts to explore the multimodal narrative approaches with a case study of Cantonese Opera: visualized spatial narratives, scenographic integrated narratives, and digital interactive narratives. Lingnan cultural image including recreating Lingnan life scenes and expressing regional characteristics, conveying Lingnan’s social values and cultural spirit and shaping the Lingnan cultural brand can be constructed, which is conducive to supporting the preservation and transmission of intangible cultural heritage, injecting new vitality into Lingnan’s cultural identity.
