Abstract

This study examines the interaction between professional pressure and teaching efficiency through in-depth interview and text analysis. The study found that teachers are generally faced with multiple superposition of institutional pressure, role conflict pressure and developmental pressure, and these stressors influence teaching practice through the differentiation path. Young teachers tend to compensate for teaching efficiency by means of technology, while senior teachers build teaching resilience through the accumulation of experience. The study further reveals the regulating role of discipline culture on pressure transmission. Humanities and social science teachers are more prone to the ambiguity of evaluation criteria, while science and engineering teachers are more dependent on material resources. Based on the results of field survey, this paper puts forward the practical suggestions of establishing pressure buffer mechanism and teaching support system, so as to provide reference for the development of teachers in similar universities.
