Abstract

Facing the new development trends of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the education sector is undergoing profound transformations, and the competency structure of teachers in higher vocational colleges has also witnessed significant changes. Based on the background of AI and the characteristics of vocational education, and integrating existing literature achievements, this paper formulates a framework for the composition of higher vocational teachers’ competency development in the AI context. Using the Delphi method and analytic hierarchy process (AHP), it determines the competency system for higher vocational teachers in the AI era and clarifies the importance of different competencies. This system includes five first-level indicators and 14 second-level indicators, with the first-level indicators being: AI education cognition and application ability, teaching design and innovation ability, data management and analysis ability, human-machine collaborative education ability, and professional development and innovation ability. The research results can provide a reference for the cultivation and enhancement of higher vocational teachers’ competencies, helping them develop various capabilities targetedly and improve their adaptability in the AI-driven context.
