- Abstract
This design is based on the “Understanding by Design” (UbD) theory, and adopts the backward design method to make a detailed teaching design for the “Environment and Us” unit of the science course in the fifth grade of primary school. By clarifying the Big Ideas and expected learning results, determining appropriate assessment evidence, and arranging corresponding learning experiences and teaching activities, it aims to cultivate students’ environmental awareness and scientific literacy. In the design process, a variety of assessment methods such as Performance Tasks, investigation reports, observation, self-assessment and reflection are comprehensively used around the Big Ideas to ensure that students can deeply understand and effectively apply the knowledge they have learned. The design results are expected to provide an effective reference and practical guidance for future teaching design.
