Abstract

Since the strategy of coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei was elevated to the national level in 2014, significant achievements have been made in the past 10 years in the areas of improving the coordinated governance system, relieving Beijing of its nonessential functions, creating a new linkage pattern of dual-wings, and raising the overall level of coordinated development. However, there are still many challenges ahead. The article delves into the challenges facing the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and looks into the future where the region strives to become a “pioneering area and demonstration zone for China’s modernization construction.” And then, the article proposes that efforts should be made in the areas of relieving of Beijing’s non-capital function, optimization of the new linkage pattern of dual-wings and sub-regional coordination, accelerating innovation and industrial cooperation, and deepening coordinated governance, the purpose is to Strengthen inter-regional cooperation, and push the high-quality development to a higher level among the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
