Abstract

With the rapid development of information technology, virtual reality (Virtual Reality, VR) technology has shown great application potential in the field of education with its unique immersive, interactive and conceptual characteristics. Especially in the experimental teaching in colleges and universities, virtual reality technology for the traditional teaching mode of innovation, not only can simulate complex, dangerous or high cost of experimental environment, also can provide personalized, repetitive learning experience, effectively make up for the shortage of physical laboratory resources, improve the teaching effect and students’ interest in learning. This paper takes the network integrated cabling course as an example to introduce the virtual reality technology to provide a good experimental environment for the students, and to analyze and verify its teaching effect. This paper also discusses the application status, advantages, challenges and future development trend of virtual reality technology in university experimental teaching.
