- Abstract
In the context of increasing globalization, Intercultural Communication Education (ICE) has become a key way to cultivate a global perspective and multicultural literacy. Based on the theories of cultural relativism and cultural absolutism, this paper discusses the core theories and practical strategies of cross-cultural communication education, and analyzes its important role in coping with cultural differences and promoting global citizenship. Using Hofstede’s theory of cultural dimensions, Hall's theory of high and low context, and Bourbaki’s theory of acculturation, this paper constructs a theoretical framework of intercultural communication education and examines its practical application through case studies. Particular attention is paid to the application of interactive learning and simulation situations in curriculum design, the promotion of cross-cultural sensitivity in teacher training, and the establishment of assessment and feedback mechanisms. Through the analysis of international exchange programs and cross-cultural communication simulations, this paper reveals the practical achievements and challenges of cross-cultural communication education, and puts forward suggestions for the improvement of future policy support and cooperation mechanisms. The purpose of this paper is to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for educators and policymakers, and to promote the deepening and development of cross-cultural communication education.
