- Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI), as a primary driving force in technological and industrial innovation, has garnered significant academic attention for its application in ELT. However, there are still some controversies in academia about the research scope, efficacy and the pros and cons of AI-assisted ELT. Consequently, this study aims to explore the development of AI-assisted English language instruction and clarify research content and methodologies. The present study summarized participants, research topics, and the nature of the retrieved literature and found that the groups of participants in this field still need to be expanded and potential drawbacks of AI in foreign language teaching remain under-researched.
